POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a results-oriented Manager, Finance not-for-profit with a strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills to join the Finance team of SE Health. You will provide exceptional day to day leadership to the professional staff focused on financial processing, reporting, and analytics. You are passionate about quality and are a proven leader and a strong communicator.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Management of designated accountants / analysts providing ongoing support, training, and mentorship
  • Successful performance of team of direct reports, processing, analysis, reconciliation, and reporting (internal/external) deadlines, with accuracy and efficiency. Responsibilities are delivered across variety of companies, business lines, funders, processes, and contracts
  • Review of certain contracts for reporting requirements, including collaboration on system set up
  • Period end reporting to Finance management and external funders
  • Review and approval of cheques & EFTs on a timely basis
  • Participation in year-end and audit including planning, reporting, adherence to deadlines, and being a key contact with external auditors
  • Preparation and review of annual financial statements and related disclosures
  • Review and submission of Charity Information Returns and Public Service Bodies' rebates
  • Staff recruitment, engagement, development, training, performance reviews and issue resolution
  • Direct and collaborate with IS business analysts on business requirements and design solutions
  • Represent Finance on project teams as required as Subject Matter Expert

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A CPA designation is required
  • A minimum of 5 years of proven managerial experience, including a strong teamwork orientation and a hands-on, proactive management style is required
  • A strong understanding of Accounting Standards for not-for-profit Organizations
  • Familiarity of tax compliance reporting for not-for-profit organizations
  • Proficiency with different software and experience with digital transformation preferred
  • Familiarity with software used is preferred:
    • Microsoft Dynamics/Great Plains
    • Micro Strategies as BI reporting tool
    • Excel - requires advanced skills- data analysis, pivot tables, formulas
  • Excellent organizational and technical skills are required
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including being able to influence as necessary
  • Detail orientation, as well as the ability to think in an overall sense
  • Proven ability to multitask, meet deadlines and deliver results in a fast-paced environment is required
