What we need:

In this position, you will be responsible for a variety of portering duties in various areas of the Hospital, which will include:

  • Transportation of patients and equipment to all areas
  • Transportation of specimens, soiled equipment and Delivery of clean and soiled linen carts
  • Transportation of pharmaceutical meds, supplies and scripts
  • Other duties as assigned

What you bring to Oak Valley Health:

  • Previous experience in a customer service role
  • Portering experience preferred
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Able to prioritize and work in an environment with multiple demands
  • Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards
  • Demonstrated commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with organization related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required.

Work Schedule:

The successful candidates will be required to work primarily 8 hour days, evenings and nights, scheduled alternate weekends and pick up shifts Monday through Sunday.

Weekdays: 0600-1400, 0700-1500, 0800-1600, 0830-1630, 0900-1700, 1100-1900, 1200-2000,1500-2300,1600-2400,2300-0700

Weekends: 0700-1500, 0730-1530, 1100-1900, 1200-2000, 1500-2300, 1600-2400, 2300-0700

Please note that shifts are subject to change based on the operational needs of the department.

Compensation:

BAND CU01: $23.59- $25.73

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent moderate and heavy exertion: lifting over 60 lbs., pushing and pulling carts, stretchers and equipment
  • Extensive walking in a fast paced environment
