The Regional Operations Manager will be a crucial leader in ensuring SE Health Seniors Living Ontario delivers operational excellence, business stability, and quality resident care across multiple senior living communities. This role focuses on driving efficiency through best practices, maintaining regulatory compliance, stabilizing business operations, and ensuring seamless staffing and service delivery.

This is a Full Time role working on site in North York

Role Summary:

Operational Efficiency & Best Practice Implementation:

  • Lead the implementation of standardized best practices and operational guidelines across all communities to ensure a consistent, high-quality resident experience.
  • Develop and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) that drive operational efficiency, streamline workflows, and reduce costs.
  • Conduct regular reviews of operational processes to ensure the elimination of inefficiencies and bottlenecks, while promoting continuous improvement initiatives that foster innovation.

Filling Vacant Positions & Temporary Staffing:

  • Proactively manage the region's staffing needs by filling vacant shifts or positions on a temporary basis, ensuring that there are no service disruptions due to staffing shortages.
  • Collaborate with staffing agencies and internal HR teams to quickly source qualified personnel when vacancies arise, securing temporary coverage or rapid hiring solutions to maintain business continuity.
  • Implement and manage a robust contingency staffing plan to address unexpected staffing gaps, ensuring that all communities are fully staffed with minimal reliance on overtime or overburdening current employees.

Business Stabilization & Continuity:

  • Take charge of stabilizing operations within communities experiencing high turnover or operational disruption, bringing in short-term solutions to manage immediate challenges while developing long-term plans to ensure sustained operational stability.
  • Oversee the implementation of turnaround strategies for underperforming communities, focusing on areas such as financial management, staff morale, and resident satisfaction to bring them back to high-performing status.
  • Ensure that all facilities maintain continuous operations during periods of transition, leadership changes, or regulatory reviews, minimizing disruption to resident care and business functions.

Process Streamlining & Technology Integration:

  • Leverage technology to streamline workflows across departments, ensuring that administrative tasks such as scheduling, payroll, and resource allocation are handled efficiently.
  • Introduce tools for automated staffing solutions, ensuring vacant shifts are quickly filled through a centralized system that minimizes manual effort.
  • Use data-driven approaches to improve processes such as resident care planning, resource management, and employee scheduling, leading to optimized staffing levels and cost control.

Regulatory Compliance & Accreditation:

  • Ensure that all communities within the region meet or exceed the standards set by regulatory bodies, including the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.
  • Lead accreditation efforts and internal audits to maintain compliance, regularly reviewing community operations to ensure readiness for inspections.
  • Develop policies to track and manage regulatory updates, ensuring that communities are always aligned with current requirements.

Investigations & Risk Management:

  • Lead investigations into resident care issues, regulatory non-compliance, or operational disruptions, ensuring swift resolution and mitigation of risks.
  • Implement risk management strategies that protect the organization's reputation and financial health while maintaining a safe and compliant environment for residents and staff.
  • Lead the response to critical incidents, guiding teams through crisis management protocols and ensuring transparent communication with residents, families, and regulatory bodies.

Leadership in Hiring, Onboarding, and Mandatory Education:

  • Oversee the recruitment and onboarding process, ensuring that every community is staffed with qualified, well-trained individuals who are aligned with SE Health's care standards.
  • Ensure that all employees, including temporary hires, receive the necessary mandatory education and training, such as regulatory updates, compliance, and best practices in resident care.
  • Foster a culture of continuous education and professional development across all levels, ensuring compliance with ongoing training requirements and promoting employee growth.

Client Satisfaction & Service Enhancement:

  • Lead initiatives to enhance client satisfaction, including soliciting feedback from residents and families, and addressing concerns in a timely and proactive manner.
  • Foster a service excellence culture, ensuring that all team members are committed to delivering high-quality care and maintaining positive relationships with residents and their families.
  • Use satisfaction surveys and other feedback tools to continuously improve the resident experience, increasing family trust and community reputation.

Role Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse (Bachelors in Nursing)
  • Proven experience in multi-site operations management within senior living, healthcare, or a related industry.
  • Expertise in staffing management, regulatory compliance, process streamlining, and risk management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead operational stabilization and crisis management initiatives.
  • Exceptional organizational and leadership skills, with a strategic focus on operational efficiency.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities, particularly in staffing, process improvement, and financial management.
  • Ability to implement and manage technology-driven solutions to optimize staffing, resource management, and administrative workflows.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
