The Ministry of the Solicitor General, Ontario Provincial Police, and the Healthy Workplace Team Bureau are seeking a qualified individual to join our Healthy Workplace Team Operations Unit. In this exciting, rewarding and challenging opportunity, you will conduct academic research, analysis and evaluation of clinical, legislative, strategic and operational issues that impact mental health and mental literacy in the greater OPP. You will support the Healthy Workplace Team (HWT) in achieving its strategic goals and priorities through the provision of effective research, analysis and program evaluation. Additionally, you will provide a comprehensive view of current provision of clinical supports to enable most informed and targeted clinical interventions.

What can I expect to do in this role?

To conduct academic research, analysis and evaluation of clinical, legislative, strategic and operational issues that impact mental health and mental literacy in the greater OPP. How do I qualify?

Mandatory

• Ability to pass an OPP background/ security investigation.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Research methodologies and statistical analysis techniques, literature review methodologies, and the ethical standards for conducting clinical research.
• Consultation, advisory, leadership, analytical, facilitation and problem-solving skills to identify issues, and to analyze and develop effective recommendations on solutions. Leadership and knowledge of tools/techniques used in project management and ability to manage projects to achieve results. Organizational, analytical and program management skills to support clinical processes to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of all operations.
• Conceptual skills to adapt and apply current theories to situations.
• Planning, organizing, and coordinating skills to support and/or lead the development and completion of HWT projects. Ability to build, manage and sustain respectful relationships and partnerships to promote alignment and efficiency of effort and approach.
• Knowledge of current/emerging trends in environmental scanning to conduct ongoing environmental scanning and develop benchmarks and good practices.
• Knowledge and understanding of the main requirements and problems of planning and implementing a survey and designing questionnaires; basic principles for preparing survey data for statistical analysis; knowledge to carry out and interpret statistical analysis such as exploratory analysis and testing for differences and associations.
• Related human services and systems in the health care, mental health, and addiction sectors.
• Knowledge and understanding of the legislative process to review federal/provincial legislation, policy, and strategic directions, to assess impacts on resources and operational and business processes and provide guidance or recommendations to HWT.
• Applicable federal and provincial legislation, ministry policies, standards and priorities, government policy direction and decision-making processes, OPP policies, Criminal Code of Canada, Community Safety and Policing Act and Regulations, Ontario Human Rights Code, Youth Criminal Justice Act, Mental Health Act, Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, Personal Health Information Protection Act, Management Board guidelines and directives and relevant Standard Operating Procedures.
• Presentation software and ability to develop and deliver presentations. Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite software and specialized software (e.g. SPSS, R, etc.).
