Bruyère Health (Bruyère) is Eastern Ontario's leading health organization specializing in aging, rehabilitation, and care for those with multiple complex medical conditions. An academic health sciences centre, Bruyère brings together compassionate, person-centered care with world-class research to maximize quality of life for those they care for and their loved ones.
Bruyère is an integral member of the Ottawa Academic Health Network (OAHN), an exciting healthcare ecosystem that is driving innovation to benefit patients across the country. OAHN unites the University of Ottawa's Faculties of Medicine and Health Sciences with Bruyère and other leading academic health science centres to transform health education, research, and innovation.
As Bruyère continues to drive transformation across the region, the Board of Directors seeks an exceptional medical leader as its next Chief of Staff - a role that will have profound impact on healthcare delivery, quality, and patient outcomes within the Bruyère community and across the region.
As Chief of Staff - Bruyère's principal medical leader - you are appointed by the Board of Directors as Chair of the Medical Advisory Committee (MAC) and report directly to the Board Chair. You are a key member of the senior leadership team, working closely with the President & CEO in a dyad relationship, and more broadly with your peers to advance Bruyère's mission, values, and strategic goals. At the Board and MAC tables, you advise on medical quality standards, prioritize and advance a growing academic focus, oversee medical affairs, ensure regulatory compliance, and lead physician resource planning, credentialing, and succession. Your mandate is broad: inspire a culture of bold innovation, improve and enhance care delivery, elevate physician and trainee engagement, education, and leadership growth, guide policy development, support Foundation initiatives, and represent Bruyère with regional, provincial, and national partners.
As an ideal candidate, you have the proven ability to navigate healthcare complexity, at scale. You have extensive experience in medical and administrative leadership. You are deeply versed in the regulatory landscape of Ontario's public hospitals and have a clinical profile that aligns with Bruyère's mission and values. Solutions-oriented and committed to excellence, you champion collaborative and interprofessional models of care that uphold the highest standards of quality and safety. You have a record of impact and success with academic partners who are committed to translating world-class knowledge production into world-class teaching and clinical care. You are respected for your sharp analytical insight, robust organizational skills, change management abilities, and exceptional and clear communications. Passionate about physician and staff engagement, you have the character and service-orientation to foster trust and respect, resolve conflicts, and support and empower diverse teams.
If you are passionate about advancing healthcare quality and are ready to contribute to an organization with a strong social mission, we'd love to hear from you.
