What would my role be?

Reporting to the Manager, Health Records and Decision Support, you will be responsible for:

  • Greeting patients and families and assisting them with their requests
  • Assembling patient charts, responding to correspondence requests and managing incoming transcribed reports.
  • Answering incoming calls and e-mails directed to the department.
  • Receiving requests from all levels of employees and must be available to assist everyone including physicians, residents and medical students.

You will work closely with all members of the Health Records team, assisting and replacing staff as necessary.

How do I qualify?

Required:

  • Community College Diploma in a related field or equivalent combination of experience, education and training
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a Health Records or healthcare facility environment.

Preferred:

  • Recent clerical experience
  • Fluent in French and English (Candidates who do not meet this language requirement are eligible to apply for this position and may be considered if there are no other suitable applicants who meet this requirement).

  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology
