What would my role be?

Reporting to the Director, Family Health Services, you will:

  • Provide a high level of patient care for all age groups as part of a team of health professionals including triage, patient follow up, and developing an ongoing awareness of the various programs and services available in the clinic and in the community.
  • Act as a health resource to the community members by providing general nursing care, assisting in minor surgical procedures, and is responsible for co-ordination of patients' care with other health care professionals and outside resources.
  • Show leadership, teamwork abilities and the ability to relate well to peers, patients, other health professionals and managers.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of research projects and programs, and participates in the teaching of nursing and allied health students, medical residents and medical students; the education of patients, and his/her own professional development.

How do I qualify?

Required:

  • Valid certificate of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) Level C certificate
  • Experience working with infants, children, adults, elderly, ante-natal care, post-natal care, and neonatal care in a primary care or community setting
  • Teaching experience

    Preferred:

    • Related specialty certification (e.g. CNA certification)
    • Membership in relevant professional associations (e.g. RNAO, CGNA, OARN, etc)
    • Preceptorship, research and quality improvement experience
    • Fluent in French and English (Candidates who do not meet this language requirement are eligible to apply for this position and may be considered if there are no other suitable applicants who meet this requirement.)
