Bruyère Health Élisabeth-Bruyère Long-Term Care is a 69 bed Long-Term Care (LTC) home situated within Bruyère Health Elisabeth-Bruyère Hospital. What would my role be?

Reporting to the Director of Care or delegate, as a member of the interdisciplinary team, you will provide care which is safe, effective, resident-centered, ethical, and evidence-based to residents. Within your scope of practice and in accordance with organizational policies, procedures and standards and with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) practice standards, you will support residents and their loved ones to receive care which promotes the resident's quality of life and optimal autonomy, and maximizes their self-care.

How do I qualify?

Required:

• Valid certificate of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
• Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) Level C certificate

Preferred:

• Experience and/or certification in geriatrics or long-term care
• Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA) and/or P.I.E.C.E.S. certification
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training
• Membership in Registered Practical Nurses' Association of Ontario (RPNAO)
• Able to work with physically frail older adults and with residents in dementia care
• Knowledge of PointClickCare and eMARs
• Fluent in French and English

• Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking, delegation and problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills (oral and written)
• Strong leadership skills and competency to oversee practice of Personal Care Attendants (PCAs)
• Able to teach and mentor other RPNs, students and PCAs
• Conflict resolution skills
• Motivation towards professional growth and development
• Able to work within an interdisciplinary team
• Able to work under pressure and to adapt to change
• Intermediate Computer skills
