POSITION:

Medical Radiation Technologist – 2 positions

Temporary Part-Time & Permanent Part-Time

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

The Medical Radiation Technologist Performs diagnostic and/or therapeutic x-ray procedures, working within scope of practice and maintaining patient confidentiality. Follows all workplace H&S policies and procedures; wears and uses personal protective equipment; ensures deliverance of a clean and safe physical/psychological environment for patients, visitors and staff and reports workplace hazards and concerns. Supports and participates in quality improvement, risk management and patient safety activities department policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Mandatory

Successful completion of a recognized program in Medical Imaging undergraduate or degree program, specializing in x-ray imaging.

Must be registered with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario in order to practice.

Current CPR

Core:

Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills required to work effectively with other members of the healthcare team and multicultural clientele.

Good organizational skills required to meet workload demands.

Demonstrated observation, analytical and decision-making skills to address patient care emergencies, to interpret and prioritize requests.

Ability to demonstrate and explain technical, patient care and departmental policies/procedures/protocols for training/orientation of staff and others.

Intermediate reading/writing skills to support patient care and documentation responsibilities.

Technical:

Operation of diagnostic imaging equipment as used in clinical application situations.

Performance of procedures to competency, certification and professional practice standards.

Patient care skills within scope of practice.

Good working knowledge of computer-based technology and software relevant to job function.

SALARY: $36.84 - $38.27 - $39.87 - $41.45 - $43.04 - $44.62 - $46.21 - $47.78 - $50.24
