Position: Project Manager - Permanent Full-time

Position Description
Southbridge is looking for an experienced Project Manager for long-term care redevelopment projects. The successful candidate will oversee the planning, implementation and tracking of long-term care redevelopment projects. The successful candidate must possess the knowledge, experience, and confidence to engage and professionally interact with design professionals and consultants, while successfully directing construction related personnel in planning, coordinating and safely executing work in accordance with contract documents, schedule and budget. The successful candidate must be professional and a personable leader, dedicated to bringing in projects on time and on budget.

As Project Manager, you'll work as team member, managing multiple projects at various stages of development. Opportunities will include managing all aspects of Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, municipal and code approvals. You will also manage schedules, budgets, design, drawings and specifications for each project.

Responsibilities
The Project Manager performs a wide range of duties including but not limited to all the following:
  • Define the scope of the project in collaboration with the Vice President of Development
  • Create a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project
  • Determine resources required to complete the project
  • Develop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates resources to activities
  • Review project schedule with senior management and all other staff that will be affected by the project activities; revise the schedule as required
  • Determine the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion
  • Work with internal team and hired designers/consultants to establish initial design, specification accuracy, drawing and tender accuracy
  • Assess and contract qualified consultants and engineers to work on the project as appropriate
  • Execute the project according to the project plan
  • Document project activities
  • Monitor the progress of the project and adjust as necessary to ensure successful completion on time and on budget
  • Review the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets Southbridge standards
  • Write reports on the project for management
  • Monitor and approve all budgeted project expenditures
  • Manage all project funds according to established accounting policies and procedures
  • Ensure that all financial records for the project are up to date
  • Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality
  • Evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of project management methodology and tools
  • Proficiency in the use of software for scheduling, budgeting, MS Office

Experience
  • 5 to 10 years in project management construction, planning and/or management experience
Working Conditions
  • Project Managers usually work in an office environment, but the purpose of the project may sometimes take them to non-standard workplaces including travel for regularly scheduled site meetings.
  • Project Managers work a standard work week but may be required to work some evenings and weekends to meet project milestones.
