Reporting to the Director of Care (DOC) the Resident Care Coordinator (RCC) will be responsible for the administrative functions, team activities and delivery of care to the residents. The RCC directs the care in a manner, which promotes and enhances the residents’ lifestyle while providing support to families and staff. Contributes to the efficient operation of the Nursing Department, consistent with the Mission and Philosophy of Bonnechere Manor.

Responsibilities

  • Performs the responsibilities of the position within the legislative and regulatory standards set out in the applicable Provincial and Municipal Acts. Performs the responsibilities of the position consistent with the Operational policies of the County of Renfrew. 
  • Ensures Nursing Services are provided in a manner that focuses on the satisfaction of the clients and fully supports their rights. 
  • Contributes to the preparation and control of the approved Nursing Department budget and all related expenditures. 
  • Coordinates the facility wide staff education program including general orientation program. 
  • Ensures the effective, efficient utilization of human resources for the Nursing Department. 
  • Responsible for the effective management of assets for the Department. 
  • Promotes and enhances positive relationship with community and external organizations. 
  • Promotes and enhances effective communications throughout the Nursing Department. 
  • Assumes responsibility as designate for Director of Care.
  • Protects own health and health of others by adopting safe work practices, reporting unsafe conditions immediately, and attending all relevant in-services regarding occupational health and safety. Follows all guidelines for employees and employers as legislated under the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Qualifications

  • A General Registered Nurse with a current certificate of Competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario. Current certification in Gerontology with the Canadian Nurses Association.
  • Post-R.N. education in gerontology or three years relevant experience in Long Term Care.
  • Minimum of 1 year supervisory experience.
  • Proven leadership abilities combined with excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Computer literacy required (word processing, spreadsheet and database).
  • BScN degree preferred.
  • Must have immediate accessible transportation.
  • Ability to meet and maintain health requirement standards of Bonnechere Manor as per the Long-Term Care Legislation.

Compensation: $55.91 - $62.93 per hour, includes comprehensive benefits and OMERS pension upon hire.
