The Clarence Rockland Family Health Team, located on the river in a semi-rural community about 25 minutes east of Ottawa, is looking for a registered dietitian to join its group. Our spacious and welcoming clinic is filled with natural light and was custom built to meet the needs of a rural practice with 30 exam rooms and 2 procedure rooms. We have a strong focus on workflow and efficiency ensuring we operate as an integrated team where everyone works together to provide comprehensive, accessible and coordinated primary health care to the residents of Clarence-Rockland.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics
  • Registered or eligible to be registered with the College of Dietitians of Ontario
  • Minimum two years of clinical work experience
  • Able to communicate fluently, verbally and in writing, in both French and English

SKILLS:

  • Excellent knowledge of health issues influenced by nutrition for individuals of all ages
  • Excellent knowledge in health promotion through an active lifestyle and in the process of behavioral changing
  • Excellent knowledge of health issues for patients suffering from obesity, type II diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or cardiovascular disease
  • Excellent knowledge of gastrointestinal problems such as gastro-esophageal reflux (GERD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), celiac disease or crohn’s & colitis
  • Knowledgeable and comfortable with whole food plant-based diet to reverse chronic diseases
  • Demonstrates aptitudes at evaluating patients’ learning needs and to plan relevant instruction
  • Demonstrates aptitudes in preparing and presenting educational material to patients in an efficient and comprehensive manner
  • Demonstrates excellent aptitudes in interacting with health professionals and within an interdisciplinary team
  • Demonstrates innovative approaches aimed at motivating and engaging patients
  • Demonstrates aptitudes in working with computer systems
  • Good interpersonal skills

 DESIRABLE EXPERIENCES:

  • Certification for Diabetes Educator (CDE)
  • Certified Bariatric Educator (CBE)
  • Past clinical experience with patients suffering from gastrointestinal problems such as gastro-esophageal reflux (GERD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), celiac disease or crohn’s & colitis
  • Past clinical experience with patients suffering from cardiovascular disease, diabetes, obesity and/or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
  • Past experience in global cardiovascular risk assessment and nutritional problems arising in a population suffering from chronic diseases 
  • Past experience in research and program evaluation
  • Past experience in instructing a group

JOB TYPE:

  • Permanent Full-Time position
  • 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 8am and 8pm
  • Closed on most statutory holidays

SALARY & BENEFITS:

  •  $65,273 to $73,777 annually
