Position: Ward Clerk - Permanent, Full Time Location: Country Village Long-Term Care Home - Woodslee, ON _________________________________________________________________________________ The Ward Clerk (permanent, Full Time) reports to the Director of Care and demonstrates excellent communication and customer service skills. He/she has a basic understanding of administrative and clerical procedures/systems and the ability to multitask in a busy environment. Key Responsibilities:
Providing exceptional customer service to residents, visitors, service providers and staff alike
Providing Human Resources Services (for all staff)
Scheduling (Nursing main focus as well as other departments)
Understanding application of provisions of collective agreement
Maintaining positive relationship with staff
Occupational Health and Safety Accountabilities
Carry out all assigned duties in compliance with applicable Occupational Health and Safety legislation and Company policy
Follow safe work practices as directed by their supervisor and as required by the applicable Occupational Health and Safety legislation
Participate in all required occupational health and safety training
Use appropriate equipment and wear personal protective equipment or clothing, as required by Southbridge
Report any known or identified health and safety hazards or violations to their supervisor
Refrain from any conduct that puts themselves, workers, contractors or others at risk

Creating reports as requested
Phone calls

Qualifications
Secondary School Diploma
1 year Community College diploma/certificate in business or related program
French speaking is an asset, but not a requirement
Technical Competencies
Knowledge of basic Payroll principles an asset
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
Minimum of 60 wpm typing speed
Ability to operate office equipment
Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
