The APNE role involves enhancing patient care by applying evidence-based practices, providing clinical consultation, and addressing gaps in practice. The APNE designs and delivers tailored staff education, promotes professional development, and mentors nurses for career growth. They collaborate with teams across UHN and the academic community on clinical and educational initiatives, participate in committees, and share best practices. The APNE leads program evaluation, implements innovative education strategies, and supports and leads quality improvement initiatives. As a leader, they drive nursing visibility and change management efforts, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
