The Toronto Grace Health Center Chiropody Clinic in proud to serve outpatients from neighborhood of Downtown Toronto and inpatients of The Toronto Grace Health Center.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Chiropodist practices in accordance with the standards of practice of the Ontario College of Chiropodists and in accordance with the mission and philosophy of The Salvation Army Toronto Grace Health Centre. The Chiropodist is accountable for their decisions and actions and provides leadership to the health care team. The Chiropodist is responsible for the assessment, implementation and evaluation of Chiropody treatment interventions and/or services for outpatients and for inpatients on assigned patient care unit(s) and/or programs. Within the vision, mission and values of the Salvation Army Toronto Grace Health Centre, the chiropodist will assume a leadership role in developing partnerships with patients, families and health care professionals to ensure optimal care delivery.
RESPONSIBILITIES
•Assumes responsibility and accountability for the provision of patient care utilizing current Chiropody theory, best practices, and the principles of patient centered care, in accordance with the standards of practice, regulations and ethics of the College of Chiropodists of Ontario.
•Complies with regulations, ethics and standards as specified by the College of Chiropodists of Ontario.
•Collaborates with patient/family to plan, implement and evaluate care.
•Develops, evaluates, and documents an appropriate plan for treatment based on assessment findings.
•Contributes to the development of the individualized plan of care based on patient/family concerns, needs, wishes, goals, and Chiropody assessment findings.
•Acts as a resource in Chiropody practice for patients, families, and staff.
•Provides education to students and conducts

•Communicates with colleagues, community agencies and vendors regarding information and services related to programs and patient services.
•Promotes the maintenance of a safe and healthy work environment.
•Is an active member of hospital committees and working groups as required.
•Participates in orientation of new staff as required.
•Maintains accurate statistical data (workload measurement) and MDS data.
•Participates in continuous education opportunities to maintain a current and accurate knowledge base and best practices to the clinical environment.
•Provides Chiropody clinical teaching to staff and/or volunteers through
•Participates in the clinical education of Chiropody students.
•Demonstrates accountability for own Chiropody practice by adhering to professional practice standards.
•Participates in chiropody related administrative duties.
•Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
•Registration in good standing with the College of Chiropodists of Ontario.
•Practices in accordance with the standards of practice set forth by the College of Chiropodists of Ontario.
•Certification to prescribe medications in accordance with the regulations of the College of Chiropodists of Ontario.
•Certification to administer local anesthesia and perform basic surgical procedures to the foot in accordance with the regulations of the College of Chiropodists of Ontario.
•Current Basic Cardiopulmonary Life Saving course preferred.
•Proven ability to function effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
•Communicates effectively in oral and written English.
•Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills.
•Demonstrates excellent attendance.
•Working knowledge in applicable computer software.
•Demonstrates ability to organize time and meet deadlines.
•Demonstrates initiative and self
•Demonstrates ability to work independently.
•Previous experience working with adults with complex needs an asset.
•Must have the physical strength, flexibility and endurance to perform the role as determined by the physical needs of the position based on assessment conducted by Occupational Health Services.
