Clinical Educator - Nursing Oncology & Endoscopy (Job ID: 8625)
As the Clinical Educator - Therapeutic Endoscopy, you will be responsible for planning, leading, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive practice and educational program for all clinical nursing team members. Reporting to the Senior Clinical Program Director, you will collaborate with the local leadership team to promote clinical excellence in patient and family-centered care (PFCC). Utilizing your knowledge of evidence-based practices, you will work with the interprofessional team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Expertise: Serve as a content expert in Therapeutic Endoscopy, demonstrating a strong understanding of procedures, post-procedural recovery, and supporting staff to incorporate these into practice.
- Education & Mentorship: Design, implement, and evaluate quality improvement, practice initiatives, and educational programs to improve patient outcomes and meet staff needs. Promote and model an environment that fosters continuous learning and professional practice.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Clinical Leader/Manager and cancer care leadership across Unity Health Toronto to lead professional practice development, support the interprofessional team, and facilitate program development in Therapeutic Endoscopy.
- Quality Improvement: Use best practices to drive quality improvement by engaging with the interprofessional team, physicians, learners, and patients and families to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate change initiatives.

Major Competencies:
- Clinical expertise: Being a Therapeutic Endoscopy content expert by demonstrating a strong understanding of Therapeutic Endoscopy procedures, post-procedural recovery and supporting staff to incorporate this philosophy into practice.
- Designing, implementing and evaluating quality improvement, practice initiatives, and educational programs to improve patient outcomes and meet staff needs.
- Develop and implement processes that ensure evidence-based practice.
- Promote and model an environment that fosters continuous learning and professional practice for program staff.
- Supporting nursing and interprofessional orientation and other corporate initiatives
- Education and coaching: Identifying clinical practice learning needs.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Master's Degree in Nursing or a relevant field (e.g., Health Administration, Education, Quality Improvement, clinical specialty) or currently enrolled with anticipated completion within two (2) years.
- Licensure:
- Current Certificate of Competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario and member in good standing.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Experience:
- Candidate MUST have a minimum of 3-5 years of recent experience in procedural Therapeutic Endoscopy, including advanced procedures such as ERCP, Cholangioscopy, EHL, EUS, EMR, ESD, RFA, Bronchosopy, EBUS, and Endoscopic management of PFCs.

- Demonstrated competence in designing, delivering, and evaluating innovative educational programs for healthcare staff.
- Strong commitment to life-long learning and professional development.
- Proven leadership and project management skills with the ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to establish positive relationships with staff, physicians, learners, and community partners.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Certifications:
- Gastroenterology Nursing Certificate (CGRN) is an asset.
- Professional Memberships:
- Membership in a relevant professional organization (e.g., CSGNA, SGNA, ESGENA, and RNAO) is an asset.
- Other:
- Satisfactory attendance record.
