Salary: $33.86 - $42.32 per hour
Shifts: Weekdays 0800 - 1600

Position Summary
The Peter Munk Cardiac Centre program provides world-class cardiovascular care. One of the largest programs of its kind in North America, we are a major referral centre. Our program offers resources and expertise prepared to deal with even the most complex patient cases.

Our multidisciplinary team includes physicians, surgeons, nurses, pharmacists, dieticians and other allied health professionals with special training in cardiac and vascular conditions and its treatment. Each year, our innovative surgery techniques and outstanding cardiology interventions attract hundreds of visiting professors and trainees from around the globe.

The Cardiac Electrophysiology Technologist within the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre Holter and Stress Clinic will work in collaboration with the inter-professional team in the assessment, planning and delivery of safe and quality patient care.

Duties

  • Holter monitor acquisition, troubleshooting and management of Northeast, GE and GE 12 lead monitors at our two clinics located at Toronto General Hospital and Toronto Western Hospital
  • Analyzing of Holter reports
  • Performing Graded Exercise Tests, Pharmacologic and Ergometer stress tests
  • Practice in a collaborative and patient centered role that complies with departmental and hospital policies, in order to deliver safe and efficient patient care

Qualifications

  • At minimum, completion of a recognized 2 year Cardiac Technologist Diploma program
  • CSCT (Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists) registration
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S)
  • Minimum 1 year experience related to Cardiac diagnostic testing in a similar setting
  • Previous experience in Holter monitor scanning with Northeast and GE systems is an asset
  • Previous experience in various Stress testing modalities; Treadmill, Pharmacological and Ergometer.
  • Experience in IV insertion and maintenance
  • Comprehensive knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology
  • Excellent problem recognition and problem solving skills
  • Effective time management skills, ability to organize work and set priorities
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member
  • Ability to work as an autonomous professional
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast paced environment

  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing education
  • Computer literacy; E-Faxing, emailing and electronic documentation.
  • Knowledge of hospital emergency codes and procedures.
