Work Model: On-site
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: $36.38 to $45.48 per hour (To commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN compensation policy)
Shifts: Monday to Friday
Status: Temporary Full Time (1 year contract covering a maternity leave)
Closing Date: Dec 14, 2024

Position Summary
We are seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator I to assist with conducting clinical research on patients with aortic disease. The CRSA will apply fundamental knowledge of research principles, theories, and concepts, and be familiar with research regulations and guidelines such as ICH/GCP, Tri-Council Policy, Declaration of Helsinki, FDA CFR, and Health Canada TPD. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology and regulatory issues. We are looking for an energetic, patient-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced clinical research environment. This role requires both research and patient-facing clinical experience.

Duties

  • Recruit participants by identifying potential candidates, obtaining informed consent, and collecting demographic and clinical data.
  • Coordinate study visits and activities among study personnel.
  • Establish and maintain communications with internal and external collaborators including co-investigators, partners, and stakeholders on a regular basis
  • Facilitate the submission of ethics applications, study amendments and renewal documents
  • Liaise with legal office to initiate and develop research contracts/agreements with external agencies and institutions
  • Ensure the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of research and data collection activities
  • Validate data, generate data queries, communicate regularly with team members and data collection centres, support with preparation of data sets for analysis
  • Assist in the training of research staff including preparation and development of training documents
  • Perform and oversee updates of study databases, manual of operations and data collection forms
  • Develop and document related operating policies and procedures

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree, or recognized equivalent, in a health or science-related discipline
    • 3 years clinical and/or professional experience
    • Up to 1 year clinical research experience, preferred
    • Applies knowledge of clinical research principles and practice
    • Applies knowledge of research regulations and guidelines, such as ICH/GCP guidelines, Tri-Council Policy, Declaration of Helsinki and FDA CFR and Health Canada TPD, as required
    • Applies knowledge of investigator-driven research processes, budgeting, contract review and mandatory reporting
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, excellent organization, and computer skills,
    • Possess creative and problem-solving skills with the ability to learn quickly and work independently
    • Excellent prioritization skills with the ability to perform multiple concurrent tasks while meeting tight deadlines
    • Ability to work under pressure with great attention to detail
    • Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality in accordance with UHN standards
    • Client service oriented, with the ability to effectively work with diversity and appreciate that people with different opinions, backgrounds, and characteristics bring richness to the challenge or situation at hand
    • Certification as a Clinical Research Professional is an asset
