Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: $38.05 - $52.04 per hour

  • Relocation: Reimbursement available consistent with UHN policy

Shifts: Days, Monday - Friday
Status: Permanent Full Time

Position Summary
As an integral member of the Nuclear Cardiology, the Stress ECG Technologist performs clinical and technical duties and acts as a resource for associated staff in any procedure or function required to investigate and complete the safe, accurate and appropriate non-invasive diagnostic or therapeutic assessment through the Exercise ECG and/or holter labs.

Duties

  • Performing varied patient care activities (i.e. administrative, education, training and research) as well as maintaining safety initiatives that are involved in effective lab functioning
  • While maintaining compliance to all departmental and hospital policies and procedures, the Technologist also ensures performance of designated Continuous Quality Insurance initiatives throughout the lab
  • Delivering responsible, knowledgeable, efficient and competent patient care in all procedures performed and maintaining optimal resource utilization and workflow in all facets of the job from patient reception to clinical procedures through to the safe patient discharge from the lab

Qualifications

  • Completion of recognized program in area of responsibility (i.e. Registered Nurse, C.T.A.O., C.S.C.T. or M.R.T.)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S) program, Level II, Basic Rescuer certification
  • One to two (1-2) years recent experience in related area of responsibility
  • Current membership with the Ontario College of Nurses, Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologist, C.T.A.O or O.S.C.A.P. whichever is applicable
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.) program, Level II: Basic Rescuer certification
  • Previous diagnostic/technical experience in adult cardiology (specific modality)
  • Experience with a wide variety of diagnostic instrumentation types
  • Experience with advanced 12-lead ECG interpretation
  • Experience with cardiac anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology
  • Excellent problem recognition and problem solving skills
  • Effective time management skills, ability to organize work and set priorities
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member
  • Ability to work as an autonomous professional
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast paced environment
