Position Summary
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides extended nursing care that optimizes patient outcomes, enhances safety, efficiency, effectiveness and accessibility to health care for patients in the Eating Disorders Program. Collaborating closely with the Nurse Practitioner currently working in the Program for Eating Disorders, the Primary Care/Mental Health Specialist Nurse Practitioner works as a member of an interprofessional team, utilizing their training to provide a range of primary care/mental health services within the scope of their practice and expertise.
Although this role will have a strong focus in the outpatient setting within our program, supporting the intake process of our outpatient program, the Nurse Practitioner could work in all the clinical settings, including our inpatient unit, performing assessments, making diagnoses, and prescribing laboratory tests, investigations and drugs as appropriate. The Nurse Practitioner will work closely with the program psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and other allied health team members to ensure seamless delivery of medical care.
