Job Description

Site: Toronto General Hospital; occasional travel associated with this position between UHN hospital sites in the downtown Toronto core.

Reports to: Manager, Data Strategy & Governance
Work Model: Hybrid
Grade: H0:09
Hours: 37.5 per week
Salary: $95,862 to $119,828 annually (To commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN compensation policy)
Status: Permanent Full-Time
Closing Date: February 8, 2025

Position Summary

UHN Data & Analytics supports UHN's growing demand for data and data-driven insights, and helps TeamUHN ensure the needs of the patients come first. Our collective goal is to better see, understand and use data to help UHN become a data-driven organization, which will help us achieve UHN's strategic goals and ultimately advance care, research and education. UHN Data & Analytics supports UHN in data-driven decisions, data literacy, performance improvement, data governance, analytics, and automation as well as advances these capabilities through collaboration across the organization.

Within UHN Data & Analytics, the Data Strategy, Governance & Analytics Team seeks to improve UHN's understanding of its data as a competitive differentiator, and enable UHN to become a data-driven and insight-enabled learning health system that effectively manages and drives value from its data assets. The Project Manager will lead multiple high-profile initiatives with corporate, clinical, education, and research stakeholders to develop policies, processes, and solutions that accelerate UHN's ability to create value from data.

Duties

  • Independently lead multiple, concurrent projects of broad scope and high complexity from initiation to close-out, including effective planning, business case development, requirements gathering, workflow mapping, schedule, budget, and issue tracking, risk mitigation, resource utilization, and benefits realization.
  • Act as the central point of accountability for all project-related items and functions.
  • Establish project governance to drive independent decision-making with appropriate input and timely escalation.
  • Lead organization-wide change through comprehensive stakeholder management.
  • Facilitate a collaborative environment with executive leadership, program team(s), external vendors/contractors, and clinical/functional/business/technical stakeholders.
  • Integrate emerging trends and subject matter expertise to creatively deliver impactful and innovative solutions.
  • Produce high quality documentation and deliverables as per project management and departmental best practices and standards.
  • Explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Supervise multiple cross-functional project team members as needed.

Qualifications

  • An Undergraduate Degree in Health Informatics, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field
  • Project Management certification (e.g. PMP)
  • 5+ years of progressive responsibility working in project management, and leading organizational change-related initiatives (people, culture, behaviour, data, process, and/or technology)
  • Solid understanding of project management life cycle, documentation, techniques, and best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate and influence all levels of the organization
  • Self-driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment with high workload.
  • Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Visio, Project, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and SharePoint)
  • A Master's degree in a relevant discipline such as Health Science, Healthcare Administration or Business Administration, or equivalent combination of education and experience considered an asset
  • Change management certification (e.g. Prosci) considered an asset
  • Knowledge of trends and frameworks in data & analytics considered an asset
  • Experience working in a complex, public sector organization or healthcare institution considered an asset
