Registered Dietitian Medical/Surgical ICU.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works effectively as a member of an inter-professional team, collaborating with other disciplines to provide comprehensive patient care
- Contributes to the academic mandate of the organization as an educator, resource or support for staff, students and members of the academic and professional community
- Identifies and addresses educational needs for patients and their families
- Demonstrates commitment to ongoing professional development

- Provides patient care in accordance with all professional and organizational standards

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have graduated from an accredited and recognized program with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Human Nutrition, or equivalent and must have successfully completed an accredited dietetic training program or a recognized equivalent. Must be currently registered and in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Ontario (CDO)
- Membership with Dietitians of Canada
- Current CPR certification
- Minimum of 2 years recent inpatient hospital experience working in critical care nutrition.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the management of enteral and parenteral nutritional support
- Demonstrated clinical skills and experience dealing with the nutritional management of medical and surgical patients with complex requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to utilize practice based research and critical thinking skills in the provision of specialized nutritional care.
- Proven ability to act both independently as a self-directed professional and as an active and collaborative member of an inter-professional team. Demonstrated effective coaching/mentoring skills for the inter-professional team and for student placements in the ICU.
- Demonstrated interest in quality improvement, committee work, and/or research.
- Excellent communication, critical thinking and interpersonal skills
- Proven flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent time management, organizational and prioritization skills
