Position Summary
As a member of the interdisciplinary Team, the REGISTERED NURSE practices in accordance with relevant legislation/standards, the UHN Professional Practice Model and the mission and vision of nursing at the UHN to provide compassionate, collaborative and competent care, while meeting the legal and ethical requirements of the profession. 15A Leukemia unit is a 17th bed nursing unit with skilled oncology nurses working in a team model approach caring for newly diagnosed Leukemia patients. The team members are able to build therapeutic relationships with patients and families during their length of stay which averages about 1 month. The team members are positive and passionate about achieving best patient care outcomes by advocating for safety. The unit has a dedicated Advance Practice Nurse Educators and Patient Care Coordinator shared within the Leukemia program to support nursing and the multidisciplinary team members. There are educational opportunities available for all staff to enhance their knowledge and skill.
