Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: $20.22 - $25.28 per hour: To commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN compensation policy
Shifts: Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm
Status: Permanent Full-Time

Position Summary

We are searching for a uniquely qualified individual to join the Cancer Clinical Research Unit (CCRU) Kit Squad in the pivotal role of Research Clerk. The CCRU Kit Squad, an integral part of the Correlative Studies Program (CSP) at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, plays a crucial role in advancing cancer research by providing centralized services for clinical trial biospecimen collection kits, general supply management, and the creation of sample collection kits for all protocols serviced by CSP.

The Research Clerk role is multifaceted, with responsibilities that include, but are not limited to:

Duties

  • Fulfilling orders that are requested by clinical trial staff for patient appointments and procedures
  • Monitoring and maintaining inventory, generating inventory reports, removing expired supplies, and reordering replacements as needed
  • Building biospecimen collection kits
  • Receiving supplies from various vendors, including the hospital shipping and receiving department
  • Cleaning and organizing the work area
  • Delivering kits, supplies, and shipping boxes to needed areas

Qualifications

  • At minimum, Completion of XII (12) or a recognized equivalent required
  • At minimum, six months of experience in inventory management or related experience, required
  • Exceptional level of attention to detail, which must be maintained in a fast-paced environment
  • One to two years of customer service experience, preferably in a hospital setting
  • Experience working with inventory software (preferred)
  • Experience in some or all of oncology, clinical trials, and biomedical terminology is considered an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, and communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with others in assisting with the delivery of services
  • Ability to remain calm and composed when dealing with difficult people or situations
  • Proficiency with MS Office software is required
  • Ability to meet daily physical demands of the job: push, pull, and lift moderate-weight objects (up to 30 lbs), walk, stand, and crouch for moderate periods
  • Excellent attendance
