Research Coordinator II Respirology/CF Research (Job ID: 8653)
Our research team in the Division of Respirology of St. Michael's Hospital is currently looking for a Research Coordinator II (RCII). We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented and experienced RCII with a passion for eHealth. In this role, you will play a key part in coordinating clinical research studies while also working to support the development and implementation of eHealth tools. This role requires excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills to effectively bridge the gap between research staff, developers and external stakeholders.
This is a hybrid position, with the opportunity to work both remotely and in person.
Duties and Responsibilities
Research Duties:
- Coordinates projects with little direction, and provides broader project strategic direction.
- Ongoing coordination of study activities; day to day project management of timelines, resources, deliverables, and study tasks.
- Prepares REB applications, including completing required forms and creating essential documents such as the study protocol, recruitment materials, consent forms, etc.
- Participates in quantitative and qualitative data collection, including designing interview guides, surveys, cleaning/coding data, and conducting interviews.
- Aids in the grant preparation (including preparing grant letters of support).
- Manages, oversees, and coordinates participating sites for PI initiated research.
- Coordinates participants and helps with screening /recruitment, including following up with participants.
Administrative Duties:
- Organizes, facilitates, and runs meetings with internal teams, and external stakeholders.
- Liaises with vendors and research contracts team to execute agreements, including service provider agreements, data transfer agreements, etc.
Technical Duties:
- An interest or understanding of software development processes would be a strong asset.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills, with a keen ability to identify, analyze, and troubleshoot bugs or system issues.
- Log, track and test bugs, ensuring all issues are properly documented and prioritized; verify that issues have been addressed and that new features are working as intended.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, including research staff, developers, and external vendors, to ensure project success.
Day to Day Project and Staff Guidance:
- Assists with hiring, onboarding and training new staff and supports team members through capacity building, and coaching.
- Manage research accounts, including preparing reports on finances, budgets, and handling invoicing (to sponsors, vendors, funding agencies, internal departments etc.).
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate Degree and 3 years of relevant experience, OR demonstrable equivalent combination of specialized education and experience.
- GCP certificate and TCPS2 training completed (or may be completed within first 2 weeks of hire).
- Experience with navigating ethics boards and grant funding applications.
- Knowledge of healthcare research; experience working with eHealth or digital health tools is highly desirable and considered an asset.
- Project coordination experience; project management skills are an asset.
- Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) experience, video conferencing software (Zoom, Microsoft Teams etc.) and project management software (Basecamp, Asana).
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Able to appropriately conduct themselves and interact with stakeholders accordingly.
- Self-driven and takes initiative, with problem solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, adaptable environment.
