Reporting to the Associate Vice President, Cycling Programs, this role is designed for a business development specialist responsible for expanding participation and support in key fundraising campaigns. The role focuses on executing sales activities, prospecting, recruiting, and building relationships with corporate and community partners to drive growth in event participation and create new business opportunities. A primary goal is to meet and exceed sales targets while supporting PMCF's mission to "Conquer Cancer in Our Lifetime." Key events include The Ride to Conquer Cancer, a large-scale, multi-day cycling event that raises essential funds for cancer research, and Northern Pass to Conquer Cancer, a scenic and challenging cycling event through northern landscapes, both aimed at supporting world-class research and treatment at The Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.

You Will:
• Serve as a fearless business development specialist building, managing and leveraging relationships that are built on trust and respect.
• Execute sales activities, including demonstrating a "hunter" mentality, meeting/exceeding targets while actively prospecting and recruiting new teams, sponsors, participants and supporters is paramount for this role.
• Build on the success of our programs and helping create new business opportunities, you will be primarily tasked with increasing team and participant numbers in addition to supporting the on-going development, management and stewarding of existing supporters.
• Exceed event participation goals and form key relationships with a multitude of corporate and community "prospects" to engage them with the PMCF and confirm their support of the Princess Margaret's vision to: "Conquer Cancer in Our Lifetime".
• Project manage and function as the key point person in liaising with multiple internal and external stakeholder audiences including key corporate partners, and team leaders/participants, to ensure the financial success of the various fundraising campaigns.
• Be a self-starter, never hesitate to pickup the phone or reach out to a prospect directly. You are willing to be there when development opportunities present themselves and when our participants need us. You thrive on being 'out there' pitching to potential supporters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent working experience with a focus in business, sales and/or marketing
• Minimum of 5 years in sales experience with demonstrated success of exceeding objectives. Ideally in the not-for-profit sector or equivalent. Experience within the sponsorship marketing industry considered a bonus.
• A proven track record of business development success with a strong rolodex of prospects. You are creative, think outside the box and believe in the importance of relationship building
• A strong "ask" orientation as demonstrated by experience in sales, account management and marketing.
• An entrepreneurial mindset and belief in our mission evident by business maturity and strong emotional intelligence.
• Strong presence, poise, persuasiveness, and the self-confidence to earn credibility with senior management and to earn the support of volunteers at all organizational levels. You are flexible, adaptable and able to speak to diverse audiences in a multitude of forums.
• Experience developing and implementing business processes with excellent follow-through skills & diplomacy.
• Experience in working and managing relationships with agencies, internal/external stakeholders.
• A strong individual contributor who is individually accountable but conducts themselves with a team first mentality.
