The Ministry of Health's newly created Health Sector Governance and Oversight Office (HSGO) is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our new team as the Senior Manager, Hospital Governance. This is a unique opportunity to lead strategic initiatives to strengthen accountability between hospital boards and the Ministry of Health.

About Us:

The Health Sector Governance and Oversight Office (HSGO) mandate is to strengthen accountability between hospital boards and the Ministry of Health to ensure effective governance, transparency, and the successful delivery of healthcare. Working closely with internal partners such as the Hospitals Branch in the ministry and external partners, some of HSGO's key initiatives include Governance Frameworks, Education and Development on accountability and governance, and Enhancing Governance and Oversight Tools and Practices.

In this role, you will:
• Lead and manage a team of professionals, providing strategic direction, mentoring, and support.

• Ensure compliance with relevant healthcare regulations and standards.
• Empower your team of professional staff to think strategically and innovatively, enabling a culture of diversity, inclusion, equity, and excellence.

What you bring to the team

Leadership Experience:

  • You have a proven ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment.
  • You have experience leading complex projects and high-profile initiatives, effectively utilizing resources and prioritizing tasks to deliver results.
  • You incorporate the principles of diversity and inclusion across all elements of your management style.

Policy and Program Planning:

  • You have experience managing the planning, design and implementation of strategic policy and program frameworks to support delivery, transformation, change management initiatives.
  • You can develop and implement governance frameworks, programs and policies through direct stakeholder relations and strategic consultations.
  • You have experience in program planning and aligning initiatives with organizational goals.
  • You exercise a high level of political acuity and judgement when developing and providing advice for confidential/sensitive issues.
  • You are experienced in managing change, risk, procurement, communication, resources, and business process.

Industry Knowledge:

  • You have a strong understanding of not-for-profit board governance and preferably have experience working with hospital boards.
  • You have experience working with hospital and healthcare stakeholders and organizations.
  • You have knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and compliance requirements.
  • You have knowledge of healthcare policy and the ability to navigate the health sector landscape.

Communication and Relationship Management Skills:

  • You have experience in building and maintaining strong relationships with diverse internal and external partners.
  • You have experience in preparing and presenting information effectively to senior management.
  • You demonstrate clear communication skills in articulating strategy, direction, advice and recommendations.
