What is the opportunity?

The Senior Manager, Social Impact, will help to advance RBC's community investment strategy as it relates to our ambition area of Skills for a Thriving Future. This role will be responsible for driving innovation in the social impact space, promoting strong and responsive relationships with our partners, while strengthening RBC's brand-position across multiple audiences. Working collaboratively within RBC, the Senior Manager, will work to develop an integrated portfolio of partners, that supports the execution and goals of the RBC Purpose Framework.

What will you do?

  • Leads the development and execution of strategic national partners, identifying key themes across the portfolio as it relates to pressing social issues, while nurturing new partner opportunities that align to the Skills for a Thriving Future ambition area.
  • Provides coaching and oversight for the regional social impact team and lines of business to support the implementation of the social impact strategy.
  • Supports the Director, Social Impact in designing and executing the Skills for a Thriving Future strategy, identifying opportunities for alignment between portfolios and partnerships.
  • Works with key partners to develop and recommend brand marketing and communication activities, providing relevant proof points and background for content marketing and campaigns.
  • Provides expert advice and support to employees across the enterprise to drive deeper engagement with RBC's social impact partners.
  • Is an expert coach on RBC's Global Community Investment Policy, ensuring any risk within the portfolio is mitigated through strong due diligence and partnership management.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field or has 10+ years' experience in grant making.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across a diverse network of partners, both inside and outside the bank.
  • Strategic thinker and problem solver, who can create and communicate project and program plans across stakeholder groups internally and externally.
  • Excels in the ability to toggle between strategic thinking and executional excellence.
  • High emotional intelligence as it relates to partnership management.
  • Ability to story tell opportunities with a keen eye on seeking out opportunities to raise RBC Foundation's profile in the community

Nice-to-have

  • 5+ years of specialized experience in the charitable sector and/or a deep understanding of the sector as it relates to skill development, education and/or community development.
  • Excellent public speaking/presentation and written skills.
  • Confidence working with senior enterprise leaders.
  • Experience working on complex private/public partnerships and IT applications.
  • Ability to communicate in French and/or experience working in Quebec.
