As a Senior Specialist, Total Rewards & HRIS, you will be joining a team committed to the principles of equity and fairness who will deliver Total Rewards HRIS services for a diverse workforce. Reporting to the Manager Total Rewards & HRIS, you will work with a variety of departments to shape and maintain the Total Rewards Program. By joining our team, you will lead the daily administration, research, analysis, planning and delivery of Total Rewards programs including compensation, benefits, pension, HRIS, reporting and metrics. You will also support the planning, testing, implementation and maintenance of Meditech system as well as other internal HR systems. This position also participates in quality improvement initiatives, supports the maintenance of a safe and healthy work environment and advances a culture of client/patient safety through work and daily practices.

Total Rewards (General)

  • Act as subject matter expert in the analysis, advice, implementation of total rewards programs
  • Lead and support ad-hoc, complex projects related to Total Rewards programs
  • Assist in the review and revision of policies related to total rewards and systems and their interpretation
  • Participate in process improvements and identify opportunities for operational efficiencies
  • Support management's decision making by providing total rewards options, conducting cost and benefits analysis

Compensation

  • Lead full cycle annual salary increases for different categories of employees (globally funded employees, Registered Nurses, Registered Practical Nurses) including market analysis, determine increase eligibility, data validation, calculation, documentation of salary administration guidelines and communication
  • Conduct market analysis to ensure market competitiveness. Analyze survey data, identify gaps, make recommendations, cost modelling and implement approved changes
  • Resolve compensation/structure related issues or discrepancies as appropriate
  • Maintain salary grid structure and ensure information is shared with the Talent Acquisition and Engagement Team
  • Evaluate jobs, outline potential cost impact and address any job evaluation questions from leaders/employees
  • Contribute to the continued effectiveness of job evaluation questionnaire forms and other documents

Benefits

  • Participate in annual insurance renewals with external Benefits Consultants, forecast benefit expenses for corporate budgeting purposes
  • Participate in quarterly update meeting with external Benefits Consultants to identify employees' benefits utilization trends, cost containment options and market trends to maintain competitiveness
  • Contribute to decisions impacting Health, Dental, Group Life, Long Term Disability, Short Term Disability renewal and/or changes
  • Keep abreast of legislative changes and recommend plan changes where necessary to ensure compliance

HRIS

  • Contribute to the efficient and effective HR reporting by determining reporting requirements, identifying appropriate data sources, analyzing and summarizing the information to various stakeholders
  • Develop reports and conduct analysis on total rewards programs and plans including trends, cost projections in support of planning, presentations, and/or corporate budgeting purposes.
  • Develop reports on multiple HR analytics to various teams
  • Act as back up for auditing data entries to ensure data quality and accuracy. Communicate regularly with People & Culture team members to address any discrepancies identified

Key Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant professional discipline (i.e. Human Resources, Business Administration, or Finance) with considerable expertise in Total Rewards or an equivalent combination of educational and work experience.
  • CHRP/CHRL, CCP designations are assets.
  • Working knowledge of project management disciplines, including experience scoping and sizing work efforts
  • Experience developing statistical and analytical reports

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of compensation, benefits, and HR technologies.
  • Advanced knowledge of HR technologies and database applications (e.g. Access and Excel)
  • Strong knowledge of statistics (e.g. descriptive, correlations, significance testing) and ability to apply statistical methodologies
  • Strong consulting and collaborative skills
  • Business acumen with excellent problem-solving, critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including facilitation and presentation skills
  • Well-developed time management skills
