Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: $42.21 - $52.76 Per Hour
Scale/Grade: D0:08
Status: Permanent Full-Time

As a member of the multi-disciplinary Eating Disorders Program at the Centre for Mental Health at UHN, the Social Worker position contributes key clinical services as part of the evidence-based treatment protocols. Delivering individual CBT, leading care partner meetings, discharge planning, and student supervision are all part of the scope of this position. This position will primarily work with patients on the inpatient Eating Disorders Unit.

Duties:

  • Delivering individual cognitive behaviour therapy for eating disorders
  • Delivery group psychotherapy (CBT and DBT skills training)
  • Leading care partner meetings with family members and significant others for the purpose of facilitating changes in behaviours, attitudes, feelings and/or environment
  • Psychosocial assessment and discharge planning
  • Supervising meals and modeling normal eating behaviour
  • Liaising with members of the multi-disciplinary team and community agencies to obtain, provide or exchange information relating to patients´ psycho-social functioning and health care
  • Providing supervision to Social Work practicum students
  • Participating in relevant research activities, projects, etc

Qualifications

  • At minimum, completion of a Master's degree in Social Work
  • Registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers required
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience working with a multi-disciplinary team in a health care setting
  • Experience with eating disorders
  • Experience with cognitive behaviour therapy and dialectical behaviour therapy
  • Experience working with anxiety disorders, depression, past trauma, and substance use an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, time management and problem solving skills
  • Exercise initiative and good judgment with ability to multi-task
  • Knowledge of applicable legislative, UHN and/or departmental policies and issues related to social welfare institutions and services
