Therapeutic Endoscopy Inventory Assistant (Job ID: 7947)
Therapeutic Endoscopy Inventory Assistant (TEIA) maintains a high level of accuracy, attention to detail and supply integrity within the Therapeutic Endoscopy Unit. The TEIA will work in conjunction with the Clinical Leader Manager (CLM) and Administrative Manager (AM), to monitor inventory levels of supplies and equipment. The TEIA will be actively involved in safety and quality initiatives within the unit.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Daily Responsibilities
- Restock bedside table supplies for admitting/recovery room.
- Maintain supply carts for each of the 8 procedure rooms and travel carts.
- Maintain inventory in the supply room (stocked and clearly labelled shelves)
- Monitor for expiring consumable supplies and prioritize to be used first on a First-In-First-Out (FIFO) basis
- Monitor and check supplies against patient procedure lists for next day (attention to specialty cases)
- Follow up with Receiving and TPL for supplies not received - track ETA or Replacement products
- Actively keep track of supply back orders
- Restock supplies as soon as received
- Check laboratory log sheet, reconcile and transport specimens to the lab.
Supply Management
- Maintain order and cleanliness in supply room
- Maintain product identification and locations
- Maintain database of endoscopy accessories
- Provide list of supplies to order on a weekly basis
- Investigate special order supply requests
- Resolve inventory problems in a timely manner
- Identify and record any issues relating to endoscopy equipment and accessories
- Liaise with internal departments and external vendors regarding endoscopy supplies
- Provide CLM with daily inventory issues and tracking updates
Equipment Management
- Maintain order and cleanliness in the biomedical storage room
- Maintain endoscopy equipment database
- Align equipment availability with scheduled cases
- Track equipment repairs
- Ensure Preventive Maintenance is completed on all equipment
Safety and Quality
- Maintain and lead the pathology tracking program
- Ensure integrity of endoscopy supplies and equipment
- Contribute to a safe and orderly working environment
- Follows all hospital and endoscopy unit policies and procedures
- Track and properly label repairs and monitor returns from manufacturers
- Ensure all equipment is in working order and validated by biomedical engineering
- Performs other related duties as maybe be required within the endoscopy unit.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma is required
- Certification in related inventory management is preferred
- Recent inventory experience in a hospital environment is required
- 2-3 years' experience with all endoscopy procedures, equipment and accessories is required
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Programs is required
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
