Mds/rai Coordinator Permanent Full Time

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Orientates new employees to PCC (PointClickCare) and MDS
• Articulates MDS assessment strengths including how triggers/care plans will enhance quality care
• Coordinates/schedules MDS submissions on all residents within established timelines.
• Provides ongoing education as to how the MDS assessment integrates with existing clinical tools
• Locks/Unlocks the RAI individual assessments as required
• Facilitates response and correction of submission errors with facility staff
• Develops systems to decrease coding error rates
• Facilitates audits of RAI assessments for content accuracy.
• Develops site material within the PCC program as required including trending of outlying quality indicators
• Provides critical analysis of data at different levels of aggregation (resident, unit, facility, region etc.)
• Educates site as to the financial implications of coding inconsistencies
• Acts as liaison with external partners in MDS related issues
• Batches and submits assessments quarterly to appropriate data repository
• Participates in strategic planning for program development/improvement
• Keeps current on RAI trends

QUALIFICATIONS

• 3 - 5 years experience in Long Term Care
• Graduate of a Professional Health-related Program, with active current licensure
• Skills in data analysis, adult education, computer skills, Continuous Quality Improvement Principles
• Previous experience in RAI/MDS preferred
