• Current Ontario Certificate of Competence as a Registered Nurse or bachelor's degree in health care related profession that correlates with IPAC core competencies.
• Completion of the Infection Control Course certificate endorsed by IPAC Canada.
• Current Certification in Infection Control (CIC) with successful recertification every 5 years.
• Completion of courses in Health care administration or
• leadership would be an asset.
• Master's degree in health care, Nursing, or Public Health would been an asset.
• A minimum of 5 years experience in Infection Prevention and Control.
• A minimum of 5 years of health care expertise in an acute care setting.
• Demonstrates progressive leadership skills and responsibilities with a minimum of three years experience in a supervisory or management group setting.
• Demonstrates expert skills in supporting and leading Infection Control professionals specific to all components of an effective infection control program.
• Demonstrates initiative and excellent judgment with identifying system-based infection control related issues with strategies to resolve them in a collaborative manner.
• Ability to maintain a professional demeanor with both verbal and nonverbal communication.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with key stakeholders demonstrating effective team building skills.
• Ability to adhere and model all aspect of the hospitals code of conduct requirements.
• Ability to manage and adhere to confidential and sensitive information as per the freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) which includes the hospital's confidentiality and privacy requirements.
• Ability to effectively deal with multiple competing priorities in an effective manner
• Demonstrates excellent computer proficiency in word, excel, Microsoft 365.
