Food Service Workers provide the resources required for the operation of the Food Services Department.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Perform activities related to patient service and food production.
2. Daily cleaning and sanitation of Food Services department.
3. Responsible for safe handling of food to ensure quality products.
4. Delivery of meals to patient services departments.
Qualifications:
• Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent is required
• Food Handlers Course mandatory (must be completed within 30 days of offer)
• Previous institutional experience in food preparation/service an asset.
• Able to perform activities related to patient service and food production.
• Able to perform some housekeeping functions, such as cleaning equipment, moving carts, lifting and bending.
• Team player with good "customer service", communication skills and reading skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Satisfactory vulnerable person's sector criminal background check.
• Internal candidates must have satisfactory attendance and performance appraisal in current position.
• Documented commitment to continuing education through inservice, staff meetings and self-motivated learning.
• Reliable and punctual
