The OR Recording Officer performs duties as outlined and assigned by the Director of Patient Care, Charge Nurse, or delegate.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Answer the telephone and respond in a professional and courteous manner. Troubleshoot any problems, relay any messages to physicians inform next day surgical patients of their arrival time
2. Enter all Board cases accurately in the computer, maintain and organize the Operating Room schedule, including assistant assignments and to distribute schedules to all areas identified as requiring.
3. Maintain staff attendance records
4. Order or print any clerical supplies
Qualifications:
• Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent is required
• Medical Secretary program from a recognized college mandatory.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel (Pivot Tables)
• Ability to assist with staffing
• Experience with electronic documentation and bookings
• Able to multi-task in a fast paced environment and remain calm in a stressful environment.
• Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to handle highly confidential information with tact and diplomacy.
• Reliable and punctual
• Satisfactory vulnerable person's sector criminal background check.
• Internal candidates must have satisfactory attendance and performance appraisal in current position.
• Documented commitment to continuing education through inservice, staff meetings and self-motivated learning.
