The South East Area is seeking family physicians interested in full/part time locum opportunties in communities located within the South East Health Networks. The rural physician locum program provides family physician locum services to assist and sustain rural communities experiencing short and long term physician disruptions.
A full time rural locum agreement is based on 160 days of service which can include clinic, ER, on-call or a combination of all three. Locums are paid a daily rate based on years of service for each day of service provided including week days, weekends and statutory holidays.
Physicians are eligible for an initial signing bonus of $11,000 and an end bonus of $10,000 upon signing a 12 month full time contract. This bonus is only applicable to full time contracts and cannot be pro-rated for part time contracts.
While working as a rural locum, physicians are able to enter into other contractual agreements provided they do not interfere or conflict with the provision of physician services in accordance with the rural locum agreement.
The SHA supports a shared commitment to a Representative Workforce that is respectful and inclusive of all staff and clients and welcomes applications from those who will contribute to the diversity of our community. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadian citizens and permanent residents will be given priority.
