Job Description: Restores, maintains and enhances the recovery of clients seeking help for addiction and/or addiction related impacts by implementing various modalities of addiction recovery programs.

Education

  • Chemical Dependency diploma

Licenses

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Knowledge of the Child and Family Service's Act
  • Knowledge in best practices in addictions and harm reduction strategies
  • Ability to prioritize work
  • Ability to work independently
  • Knowledge in development model of recovery (SMRS)
  • Knowledge in addictions screening, assessment tools and procedures
  • Knowledge of chemical dependency/co-dependency and effect on the family unit.
  • Knowledge of educational/behavioural interventions/consultations
  • Knowledge of the Youth Detox and Stabilization Act
  • Ability to deliver workshops and lecture material to clients.
  • Knowledge in Transtheoretical model of change
  • Knowledge of HIPA
  • Ability to report client information in accordance with professional standards
  • Knowledge in co-current disorders and issues related to gambling addictions
  • Ability to respond under pressure.
