Job Description:

The EMT-PCP will respond to calls for service as per dispatch instructions, providing assessment, treatment and transportation of ill or injured persons. The EMT-PCP will cover standby assignment as operations require.

Education

  • Primary Care Paramedic diploma (PCP)

Licenses

  • Registered Emergency Medical Technician/Primary Care Paramedic (EMT/PCP)
  • Valid Class 4 driver's license
  • International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS)

Other Education and Training

  • Basic Life Support Health Care Provider Certificate (BLS-HCP)

Competencies

  • Basic - Interpersonal skills
  • Basic - Communication skills

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Knowledge in diverse cultures, values and traditions

Other Information

  • Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at PCP/EMT level
  • Preference to HSAS members as per the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement
  • Must be able to respond to the ambulance within 10 minutes when on-call
