Job Description: Reporting to the Manager, the incumbent is responsible for the screening and coordination of initial service requests for all programs within Mental Health and Addictions Services in the Saskatchewan Health Authority. The Assessor Coordinator Degree provides screening, triage, assessments for urgency/risk, and coordinates case assignments. The position facilitates crisis response and short-term support for services to clients presenting with a variety of mental health and addictions issues. The Assessor Coordinator Degree provides consultation to Community Agencies and Programs regarding services available in Mental Health and Addiction Services.

Experience

  • Experience working with mental health and addictions clients

Education

  • Bachelor of Social Work (BSW)

Licenses

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license

Other Education and Training

  • Bachelor of Addictions Counseling is acceptable
  • Bachelor of Nursing is acceptable
  • Bachelor of Social Sciences is acceptable
  • Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing is acceptable

Competencies

  • Communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Knowledge in Mental Health and Addictions
  • Knowledge in community resources and services in the clinical area
  • Knowledge of crisis and suicide intervention and prevention programs
  • Knowledge of assessment, triage, treatment and case management.
