About the position: The Jordan's Principle Intake Officer will assist and support the Jordan's Principle Program to improve the overall health and wellbeing of La Ronge Indian Band members. S/he will report to the Public Health Manager.
Duties:
- Work and support the Jordan's Principle team;
- Serve as a contact person in their community/service area for social requests;
- Support families to access available supports in their community;
- Verify eligibility of the child prior to approving funds;
- Confirm that the recommended letter for the requested service or support is in the best interest of the child;
- Document case files and maintain records and invoices for audit purposes;
- Producing and organizing hard copy information and reports;
- Recording Data;
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2-year Diploma in Social Work, Sociology, or Mental Health & Addictions (combination of education and experience may be considered);
- Strong critical thinking skills;
- Demonstrates Time Management skills and Establishing priorities;
- Experience & knowledge with computers and office equipment;
- Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams;
- Excellent Verbal & Written Communication Skills;
- Knowledge of the Woodland Cree Culture and ability to Speak and/or understand Cree is an asset;
- Certified First Aide & CPR is an asset;
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
