Job Description: Emergency Medical Technicians are responsible for providing emergent and non-emergent Basic Life Support (BLS) services to the sick and injured, and for continuing to provide BLS medical services until responsibility for patient care can be assumed by hospital authorities or a Paramedic.

Education

  • Primary Care Paramedic Certificate from an approved educational institute

Licenses

  • Valid Class 4 driver's license
  • Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)

Competencies

  • Advanced - Interpersonal skills
  • Advanced - Communication skills

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team

Other Information

  • Preference to HSAS members as per the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement
  • Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at PCP/EMT level
