Anesthesiologist

Job Description

The successful candidate(s) will join our team to provide comprehensive anesthesiology services to the patients of southwest Saskatchewan at Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital. The scope of practice includes inpatient and outpatient care, emergency consults and specialist on-call coverage. We provide full obstetrical services, as well as general surgery, gynecology, urology, orthopedics and ophthalmology. Elective OR runs from 07:45 to 16:00 hours. Call is 1:4.

Relocation Package

The successful applicant may apply for the Specialist Recruitment Incentive offered through the Saskatchewan Medical Association, which provides $30,000.00 to an eligible specialist that establishes a practice for a minimum of thirty-six months in a Saskatchewan community.

Job Qualifications

The successful candidate will be a Fellow (or be eligible for Fellowship) with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Anesthesiology. Candidates should be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS). Preference will be given to University of Saskatchewan graduates and individuals with strong ties to Saskatchewan. This individual should be a team player, be able to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, staff and management, and function well in a high volume environment with a commitment to provision of high quality patient and family-centered care.

In accordance with immigration requirements, preference will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada.

The Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital:
The “Wigmore Hospital” is a brand-new state of the art facility with 72 inpatient beds including an intensive care unit. We provide full obstetrical services, as well as general surgery, gynecology, urology, orthopedics and ophthalmology. Other specialty services available include pediatrics, internal medicine, pathology, radiology (diagnostic imaging, ultrasound, CT, MRI). There is opportunity for participation in teaching through the University of Saskatchewan, College of Medicine programs.
