Job Description: Reporting to the Facility Managers, the Resident Care Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the highest standard of care and service is provided to residents within SHA Moose Jaw Special Care Home. As an experienced practitioner, the resident care coordinator acts in a leadership role to provide specialized clinical expertise, coordination of resident care, and support and teaching to the resident care team (including residents and residents' families) within a collaborative environment. The routine procedures are generally predetermined but critical thinking and independent judgment is an integral part of the position.

Human Resources Exemption: No

Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years relevant long term care nursing experience

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)

Licenses

  • Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)

Other Education and Training

  • Psychiatric Nursing diploma is acceptable
  • Nursing diploma is acceptable
  • Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing is acceptable

Competencies

  • Demonstrates leadership skills

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Ability to implement and support a collaborative working enviroment
