Job Description

The community of Moosomin is seeking a full time primary health care physician to join their team-based primary health care clinic. The clinic offers a full range of medical services and is comprised of 9 other physicians and 1 Nurse Practitioner.

Regular clinic hours are Monday - Friday from 08:00-17:00. In addition to working in the clinic, physicians are required to participate in on call coverage for the Southeast Integrated Care Centre - Moosomin emergency room and in-patients, home care and long-term care residents, and will also respond to critical lab values. The scheduling of call coverage responsibilities will be arranged equitably and collaboratively by the Contractor with the other physicians providing physician services in Moosomin.

Relocation Package

The successful candidate may be eligible for:

  • The Rural Physician Incentive Program (RPIP) which provides up to $200,000 over five years to family physicians practicing, or returning to practice, in rural and remote communities in Saskatchewan
  • The SMA Retention Fund, which provides financial reward to physicians who practice in the province for extended periods ranging from $3,500 - $7,000

Job Qualifications

  • Certified or eligible to be certified with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
  • Regular or Provisional License with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS) (or eligible to be licensed)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Recommended - Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Valid driver's license
  • Successful SHA credentialing including but not limited to acceptable reference checks and criminal record check with vulnerable sector
  • Current Canadian Medical Protective Association coverage
  • Legal entitlement to work in Canada

The Southeast Integrated Care Centre serves a wide area of South East Saskatchewan and South West Manitoba offering 23 acute care and 58 long-term care beds. Besides acute and long-term care, services include outpatient services, emergency services, diagnostic and laboratory services, and community services including mental health, physiotherapy, home care and public health.
