Job Description: The Clinical Equipment and Project Nurse functions as a member of the multi-disciplinary team in the Emergency Room whose primary responsibilities are that of a clinical, technological and educational focus that:
Ensures equipment and supplies are properly maintained and functioning.
Maintains an excellent knowledge of departmental standards, policies, and operation procedures.
Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and members of the healthcare team.
The incumbent integrates skills and knowledge from theory and principles of adult learning in the provision of direct patient care, clinical coordination, clinical problem solving, education and research.
Provides leadership that is visible, pro-active, and promotes the delivery of safe patient care through the application of practice standards. In consultation with the Manager of Emergency/Ambulatory Care, the individual is responsible for assessing learning needs of staff, planning, and implementing and evaluating designated educational activities/programs either unit or facility-based and/or region-wide.
The incumbent will use a consultative approach and use research findings to provide support to health care professionals as appropriate in the planning and implementation of educational needs.
The incumbent will collaborate with the clinical nurse educators and any other health care providers whose experience and/or knowledge will aid in the planning and implementation of on-going training programs for clinical patient care staff.
The incumbent will assist in the development of clinical policy and procedure development and implementation.
