Job Description:

Reporting to the Manager of Clinical Integration, the Skin and Wound Care Nurse is responsible for establishing processes that will result in care providers having the appropriate supplies and equipment to support their clinical practice and provide safe, efficient and cost effective skin and wound care. The incumbent is self-directed and there is an expectation that the incumbent will communicate and consult frequently with the Directors of Acute Care, Primary Health Care and Continuing Care regarding skin and wound care initiatives.

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)

Other Education and Training

  • International Interdisciplinary Wound Care Course
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in skin & wound care management.
  • Basic Life Support Level C Certificate (BLS-C)
  • Graduate of a recognized school of Enterostomal Therapy or NSWOC or equivalent.
  • Nursing diploma is acceptable

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Knowledge in skin and wound care
  • Ability to be flexible and willing to change

  • Covering North Battleford and Lloydminster

  • Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)

  • No guaranteed hours. Must be Available a minimum of twenty-four (24) hours per 3 week period. Must be available all shifts, short shifts, short notice calls, stats and holidays, where applicable.
