Job Description: Under the general direction of the Primary Health Care Manager, and as part of the multidisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse (Nurse Practitioner) (RN(NP)) is responsible for the provision of primary health care services to individuals and specific client groups in accordance with evidence based knowledge and advanced nursing practice. This role includes clinical practice, consultation and collaboration with other health care professionals, education, leadership, research, and development of quality improvement initiatives.

Human Resources Exemption: No

Experience

  • One (1) year experience with community development/health promotion activities
  • Three years fulltime experience as a Registered Nurse

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)

Licenses

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license

Other Education and Training

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support Level C Certificate (BCLS)
  • Master of Nurse Practitioner is acceptable
  • Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner Specialization

  • One (1) year nursing experience in a primary health care setting preferred
