Job Description: As a member of the Integrated Outreach Team and Under the general direction of the Manager of Addiction and Integrated Outreach Services and the Clinical Supervisor of Integrated Outreach, the primary goal will be to restore, maintain and enhance the recovery of people seeking general services for addiction and mental health by implementing services consistent with the current Provincial Clinical Models for Mental Health and Addition Services and the philosophy, objectives and standards set by the Integrated Outreach Team. Responsibilities will include providing informational programming through individual and group counseling sessions to clients in the community and office setting. Experience

  • A minimum of two years of supervised addictions experience.

Education

  • Addictions Counselling diploma
  • Chemical Dependency diploma

Licenses

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license

  • Basic - Communication skills
  • Basic - Presentation skills

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Knowledge in Transtheoretical model of change
  • Knowledge in addictions screening, assessment tools and procedures
  • Knowledge in the SHA, community resources and applicable programming
  • Knowledge in development model of recovery (SMRS)
  • Ability to work and communicate in a cross cultural setting
  • Knowledge in holistic addictions treatment model
  • Knowledge in diverse cultures, values and traditions
  • Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to work independently
