Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Mental Health Therapist - Staff $35.546 to $43.466

Travel Required: No

Job Description: Provides ongoing mental health and psychosocial client services. Services delivered include screening and assessing client needs and determining relevant treatment plans. Initiates or participates in community development initiatives, participating in PHC initiatives evaluation within site. Promotes quality health care outcomes working within established standards of practice to ensure that clients receive a high standard of primary health care. This will be done in accordance with organization mission statement, policies and procedures.

Experience

  • Experience in applicable computer software/programs

Education

  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in Nursing or other allied health profession

Licenses

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license

Other Education and Training

  • Bachelor of Education is acceptable

  • Advanced - Written Communication Skills
  • Advanced - Verbal communication skills

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Ability to complete case management assessments, follow-up and treatment
  • Ability to establish effective treatment relationships with clients
  • Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge in developmental psychology
  • Sound judgment, tact, initiative and high standards of integrity/responsibility
  • Ability to collect, record, report comprehensive client information accurately
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Knowledge of normal and abnormal development
  • A demonstrated ability to meet and work with clients
  • Ability to report client information in accordance with professional standards
