Job Description: This position is responsible for the provision of assessment, screening and brief intervention with individuals and families seeking outpatient mental health and addiction services. The position is situated in a collaborative, team-based environment that requires strong organizational and time-management skills and the ability to cope effectively with stress, change and diversity. Duties will include screening, assessment, counseling, consultation and the provision of relevant mental health and addiction education to the public and other service providersPrimary Responsabilities:- The provision of screening and initial assessment of individuals referred to mental health and addictions outpatient services. - Provide brief treatment to individuals and families experiences mental health and addiction difficulties This may include individual and/or group counseling modalities.- Coordinate other mental health and addictions services based on clients level of need.- Refer and collaborate with other community agency when necessary to enhance the well-being of clients (with appropriate consent)- Provide crisis intervention when necessary.- Attend team meetings, reports writing and file documentation.- Perform other related duties as assigned.
